LEESBURG, VA DEMOGRAPHICS

Highly skilled:

Well educated:

  • 51% of residents 25 or older have a bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 19% have a graduate or professional degree

Young:

  • Median age is 34.6 years old
  • 31% of the population is under 20 years old
  • 62% of the population is of primary labor force age (20 to 64)

Increasingly diverse:

  • Minority population is 39% of the total
  • Foreign-born population is 22% of the total
  • 16% of the population over the age of 5 speak English and at least one other language proficiently

MANASSAS, VA DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the 2010 Census, the population was 37,821. 

The racial breakdown per the 2010 Census for the City is as follows:

  • 61.7% White
  • 15.7% Black
  • 4.9% Asian
  • 14.6% Other
Males: 20,896   (49.7%)
Females: 21,185   (50.3%)
Median resident age:   33.9 years
Virginia median age:   38.2 years
Estimated median household income in 2016: $73,948 (it was $60,409 in 2000)

 

FREDERICKSBURG, VA DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the 2010 census, the population was 24,286. The racial makeup of the city was 73.18% White, 20.41% Black or African American, 0.34% Native American, 1.51% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 2.56% from other races, and 1.95% from two or more races. 4.90% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. 

The median income for a household in the city was $34,585, and the median income for a family was $47,148. 

Tourism is a major part of the economy, with approximately 1.5 million people visiting the Fredericksburg area annually. 

SILVER SPRING, MD DEMOGRAPHICS

As of the 2010 census, there were 71,452 people, 28,837 households, and 15,684 families residing in the Silver Spring CDP. The population density was 9,021.7 people per square mile (3,485.5/km²). There were 30,522 housing units at an average density of 3,853.8 per square mile (1,488.9/km²). The racial makeup of the community was 45.7% White, 27.8% African American, 0.6% Native American, 7.9% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 13.2% from other races, and 4.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino people of any race comprise 26.3% of the population. Like much of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Silver Spring is home to many people of Ethiopian ancestry.

The median income for a household in the census area was $71,986, and the median income for a family was $84,136.
